The dev preview stays available for approval and revisions. The public live site needs one clear address.
Some options are handled by us; others require a DNS change from your domain manager.
Default / no customer DNS Free ProfitsLocal subdomain
Use a dedicated address under our domain, such as yourbusiness.profitslocal.com.
- You do not log in to a registrar.
- We create the DNS record and attach it to the approved live Pages project.
- Best for fast launch, QR codes, menus, and outreach links.
For this order We must configure this before it opens. If it does not resolve yet, it is pending setup or certificate validation.
Customer DNS / safest Your subdomain
Use a focused address, such as menu.yourbusiness.com or order.yourbusiness.com.
- Best if you already have an official website.
- Customer adds one CNAME record.
- We attach the custom domain in Cloudflare Pages after DNS resolves.
DNS record menu.yourbusiness.com CNAME your-project-live.pages.dev If your DNS is on Cloudflare, leave the record proxied or DNS-only according to your existing policy; the important part is the CNAME target.
Official replacement Your root domain
Use your main website address, such as yourbusiness.com.
- Best when this will replace your official website.
- Cloudflare DNS can use a flattened CNAME at the root.
- Other registrars may need ALIAS/ANAME, or use www.yourbusiness.com and redirect the root.
Preferred DNS records @ CNAME your-project-live.pages.dev www CNAME your-project-live.pages.dev Root domains are slower because we must avoid breaking existing email, website, or registrar settings.
Not the launch path yet ProfitsLocal subpage
Use a path such as profitslocal.com/yourbusiness.
- No DNS change from the customer.
- Useful later for a directory, case study, or temporary listing.
- Not currently the production website launch route unless we build the root-site router.
Rule of thumb
Fastest: use our free client.profitslocal.com subdomain.
Best when you already have a website: use a customer subdomain like menu.yourbusiness.com.
Best for a full replacement: use the root domain after checking existing DNS, email, and website records.
